Superb antique lacquered glove box Japanese or of Japanese inspiration.
Also perfect as a jewellery or trinkets box.

Made of black lacquered wood – Japanese technique – with metallic glitter and mother-of-pearl inlays of bird and cherry blossom/camellia/peony motifs in shades of pink and iridescent tones.

Metal latch and hinges with delicate engraved details.

☽ CONDITION ☾
Good overall condition: box, latch, and hinges are functional.

Note: The lacquer is damaged in places and weakened in others.
The hinges are slightly wobbly.
The silver plating on the latch is worn in places.

The price reflects this.
