For the American-Indians, the Sunrise / Sun Rays symbol represents perenniality and constancy. In Native crafts, its presence goes far back in history. The Sun destroys all the bad energy using his Sun Rays. Thus, the Rising Sun can also symbolise a new beginning. Some other popular meanings are vitality, knowledge, courage and energy.

The Apsáalooke Talisman

The Indian name of the Crow tribe – Apsáalooke – means “children of the large-beaked bird”, a name given by their neighboring tribe, the Hidatsa.

Talismans

Finally available, the Talisman is my jewellery version of the American Indians Medicine Pouches. Each Talisman holds four different crystals, selected by me for their beauty & their properties. It is contained in a glass vial from the 1930s. The chain is sterling silver and a little handmade explicative booklet accompanies each Talisman.
